Origin of our name

Cadenza is a musical term that refers to an elaborate or showy solo passage near the end of an aria or concerto movement. During a cadenza, the featured soloist plays an often technically difficult and sometimes improvised passage. The cadenza is an opportunity for the soloist to ‘show off’ technique, skill, and mastery on their instrument while the rest of the ensemble typically remains silent, ready to resume accompanying the soloist for the grand finale.

We chose the name Cadenza for our company to convey our philosophy that each individual has talents to develop and share with others. It is by building on these strengths that optimal performance can be attained. Unique to each cadenza is the soloist’s personal musical translation, interpretation, and individual personality. Therefore, no two cadenzas are exactly the same. Each performance is influenced by the training, emotion, intention, and energy of the individual performer.

As therapists, we believe that each individual deserves their own moment to shine in the spotlight while we admire and support their courage and effort. It is our desire (and indeed our privilege) to help the people we treat create special moments to stand out - to create their own cadenza.
