“When griping grief the heart doth wound, and doleful dumps the mind opresses, then music, with her silver sound, with speedy help doth lend redress.”
– William Shakespeare

Premarital Counseling

Divorce rates at an all time high and it seems that couples are facing more challenges than ever in preserving their relationship stability. Many couples spend more time planning their weddings than they do preparing for their marriages! As a result, marriages may have very shaky relationship foundations, diminished emotional safety and little ability to deflect internal conflict within their relationship, let alone the stressful external events that life sometimes can dish out.

Premarital counseling is a type of therapy that helps couples prepare for marriage and can help ensure that you both have a strong, healthy relationship. Premarital counseling can also help you identify weaknesses that could become bigger problems during marriage. Typically, sessions are run by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Sessions address topics such as: role expectations, communication, problematic family of origin issues, spiritual beliefs and values, and finances. Ultimately, the return on your marriage investment has the potential to be both fulfilling and long-lasting!

Premarital counseling doesn’t need to be a long process, but begins with an initial commitment of four weekly sessions with our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. During this time, you and your partner can give each other the gift of improved communication and problem-solving and ultimately a greater chance for a stable and satisfying marriage. Call our offices for more information or to schedule your session.
