Mental health care should remain accessible, even when insurance systems change. In this newsletter, we’re addressing the challenges some families face during Florida’s CMS Health Plan transition, sharing resources to help parents understand their child’s development, and discussing how therapy and consistent routines can help people living with bipolar disorder. You’ll also find stories from Cadenza families and ways to connect with our team.
When Insurance Changes Interrupt Mental Health Care
Florida’s Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Health Plan transitioned from Sunshine Health to Molina Healthcare on October 1, but administrative challenges are creating barriers to continuity of care for some established mental health clients. Despite months of preparation, Cadenza Center reports that credentialed providers are still not appearing correctly in Molina’s systems, potentially forcing interruptions in care for families who depend on these services.
The message is clear: an insurance transition should be an administrative change, not an interruption in someone’s mental healthcare.
Is it a phase — or something more?
Parenting a young child comes with a lot of questions. Is this normal? Should I be worried?
Cadenza Center’s licensed child psychologists created a free guide, Phase or Pattern?, to help parents of children ages 2–8 find answers. Inside, you’ll discover which behaviors are developmentally typical, which warrant closer attention, and the three signs that often point to a professional evaluation.
All written in plain language, without pressure or clinical jargon.
Because you deserve a clear answer, not more uncertainty.
Understanding the Highs and Lows of Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder can bring periods of intense energy and creativity followed by episodes of deep sadness, fatigue, and withdrawal. But these shifts are not personal flaws, and with the right support, greater stability is possible. This blog examines how therapy, consistent routines, self-awareness, and medication when appropriate can help people recognize mood patterns, manage changes, and build a more balanced life.
