Who We’re?

Integrating psychology and creative arts therapies for all ages

At the Cadenza Center for Psychotherapy and the Arts in Hollywood, Florida, a dedicated roster of therapists, educational and behavioral consultants treat the developmental, emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioral needs of both adults and children. Founded in 2001 by Michelle Hintz, Psy.D., a licensed psychologist and board-certified music therapist, the Cadenza Center provides general services including individual and family therapy incorporating active treatment strategies such as sensory integration, DIR/Floortime, and social pragmatics. We invite you to browse our website for more information about our services and our team.

Having begun her career as a music therapist over 30 years ago, our Founder and Director was inspired by the power of the arts to make meaningful positive changes in her clients. Originally providing only music therapy services, our founder was passionate to fill a need in the community for more comprehensive treatment. She obtained her Doctorate in Psychology and expanded services to align with this broader vision. The Company’s name comes from the word “cadenza,” which is the musical term for a solo musical performance that showcases the performer’s virtuosity and improvisational skills. The Cadenza Center builds on the use of this term as a metaphor to describe our approach to services as supporting individuals while promoting health and healing.

OUR MISSION is to help each person we serve to shine in their own "spotlight," and to lead a life that is fulfilling, meaningful, and free from mental health struggles.

The company’s approach is based on the idea that the arts can be used to access and process emotions, as well as to promote personal growth and self-awareness.

OUR CORE VALUE is to assume potential and ability to transcend diversity in abilities.

OUR GOAL is to empower our clients to take control of their own mental health journey by using their creativity as a tool for healing and self-expression.
